Healthy Peach Banana Smoothie
I’ve got a secret love… my Vitamix Blender! I throw in all sorts of RAW vegetables and fruits, and my Vitamix blends everything so well that it turns out smooth and creamy no matter what. This Creamy Peach Smoothie is NO exception.
Juicy peaches, a banana, a carrot and a little cabbage blend with vanilla almond or coconut milk into a sweet, frosty peach smoothie with vegetables you will never taste.

The Best Creamy Peach Smoothie (With Hidden Veggies)
I can’t live without my Vitamix! The juiciness of the peaches and sweetness of the banana mask the taste of the cabbage and carrots. You won’t even taste the cabbage! Promise. It’s a mild tasting vegetable but adds some great nutrients.
I love that it’s peach season right now! I love them especially in smoothies. In the summer, ripe fresh peaches make this smoothie taste like peaches and cream. The rest of the year, a bag of frozen peaches works just as well and makes it even thicker. If you are lucky enough to have a peach tree, this is the perfect way to use up a big harvest.
The banana gives the smoothie its creamy, almost milkshake texture, and vanilla almond or coconut milk adds a soft vanilla sweetness that tastes great with peaches. The carrot adds natural sweetness and a sunny orange color, so the smoothie looks as bright as it tastes. A scoop of vanilla protein powder is optional, but it turns this into a filling breakfast or post workout drink.
It is a smart way to sneak vegetables into a glass that tastes like dessert, and it only takes 30 to 45 seconds to blend. Try it and let me know what you think!
Why You’ll Love This Peach Banana Smoothie
- Thick and creamy. Banana and frozen peaches make it smooth and frosty.
- Hidden vegetables. Carrot and cabbage add nutrients, and you won’t taste them.
- Fresh or frozen. Make it with summer peaches or a bag from the freezer.
- Protein optional. Add a scoop of vanilla protein to make it a meal.

Ingredients You’ll Need
Exact amounts are in the recipe card below.
- Vanilla almond or coconut milk: The liquid base. The vanilla flavor pairs beautifully with peaches and adds a little sweetness without extra sugar. Both keep the smoothie dairy free. Use the drinkable carton kind, not thick canned coconut milk. Plain milk works too; add a few drops of vanilla extract if you like.
- Vanilla protein powder: Optional. One scoop of vanilla whey or vegan protein powder makes the smoothie more filling and adds a creamy vanilla note. Leave it out for a lighter snack. If your protein powder is unflavored, a splash of vanilla extract keeps that peaches and cream flavor.
- Carrot: One medium carrot, peeled, or about 1 cup of baby carrots. Carrots are naturally sweet and add a bright orange color. A high speed blender purees them completely. With a regular blender, chop the carrot into small pieces or grate it first.
- Cabbage: One cup chopped. Green cabbage is very mild in a smoothie and adds great nutrients. The peaches and banana completely hide its flavor. Remove the tough core and chop the leaves so they blend quickly.
- Banana: Adds creaminess, body and natural sweetness. A ripe banana with a few brown spots is sweetest. A frozen banana makes the smoothie even thicker. Peel and slice bananas before freezing so they are easy to use.
- Peaches: Two cups of fresh or frozen peaches are the star. Ripe fresh peaches smell sweet and give slightly when pressed. Slice them and remove the pits; peeling is optional, since the skins blend in. If you use fresh peaches, add 1 cup of ice to keep the smoothie cold and thick. Frozen peach slices need no ice and are available all year.
How to Make a Creamy Peach Smoothie
- Prep the produce. Peel the carrot, or measure out baby carrots. Chop the cabbage. Peel the banana. If using fresh peaches, slice them and remove the pits.
- Add the milk first. Pour the vanilla almond or coconut milk into the blender. Liquid on the bottom keeps the blades moving freely, and add the protein powder now if you are using it so it dissolves completely.
- Layer the rest in order. Add the carrot, cabbage, banana and peaches in the order listed. The vegetables go in before the fruit so they sit closest to the blades and get completely pureed. If you are using fresh peaches, add 1 cup of ice on top.
- Blend. Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds until smooth. The smoothie should be thick, creamy and a sunny peach color with no flecks of carrot or cabbage. In a Vitamix this happens fast. With a regular blender, blend a little longer and stop once to stir.
- Adjust the thickness. To make it thicker, add ice or more frozen peaches 1/2 cup at a time and blend again. If it is too thick, add a splash more milk.
- Serve. Pour into glasses and enjoy right away while it is cold and creamy. A slice of fresh peach on the rim makes it look extra special.
Kami’s tip: If you use fresh peaches, add one cup of ice. To make it thicker, add ice or more frozen peaches 1/2 cup at a time.
Ways to Customize This Smoothie
- Add greens. A handful of spinach blends in easily, though it will change the color.
- Make it tropical. Swap half the peaches for frozen mango or pineapple.
- Add yogurt. A scoop of vanilla Greek yogurt makes it taste like peaches and cream.
- Warm it up. A pinch of cinnamon or ginger tastes great with peaches.
Creamy Peach Smoothie FAQs
- Can you taste the cabbage? No! It’s a mild tasting vegetable, and the juicy peaches and sweet banana mask it completely.
- Can I use frozen peaches? Yes. Frozen peaches make the smoothie thicker and colder, and you don’t need to add ice.
- Do I need to peel the peaches? No. The skins blend in, especially in a high speed blender. Peel them if you want an extra silky texture.
- Do I need a Vitamix? A high speed blender makes the carrot and cabbage completely smooth. With a regular blender, chop the vegetables small and blend a little longer.
- Can I use red cabbage? You can, but it will turn the smoothie a muddy color. Green cabbage keeps it a pretty peach shade.
- Can I use canned peaches? Yes. Choose peaches packed in juice, drain them and add a cup of ice.
- Can I make it without banana? Yes. Add extra frozen peaches or a spoonful of Greek yogurt to keep it creamy.
- Is this smoothie dairy free? Yes, when you use almond or coconut milk and skip the protein or use a vegan protein powder.
- Can I make it ahead? It is best fresh. Freeze leftovers in ice cube trays and blend them into your next smoothie.
