apple sauce muffins - No Diets Allowed

Applesauce Chia Muffins


  • 2 cups whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1/4 cup organic chia seeds
  • 2 teaspoons aluminum-free baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup honey or pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup milk of your choice... I used vanilla almond milk
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract


  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine flour, chia seeds, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon.
  3. In a small bowl, combine applesauce, honey, oil, milk, and vanilla. Stir well. Pour into dry ingredients and stir just until batter is moist.
  4. In a greased muffin tin, pour 1/4 cup batter into each tin.
  5. Bake for 20 to 22 minutes until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean.
