Just thinking of combining rich chocolate, creamy peanut butter, and smooth bananas makes my mouth water. Well, why settle for dreaming when I could create my own version of Peanut Butter Moo’d with only three ingredients.
To create the tastiest and healthiest version of this smoothie, here are my recommendations. Remember how I mentioned in my Caribbean Passion recipe how most of us have dairy sensitivities and don’t even realize it? Well, the original Jamba recipe calls for frozen yogurt and chocolate milk. Frozen bananas are a creamy, sweet substitute for frozen yogurt and chocolate almond or coconut milk are a velvety, calcium-rich substitute for dairy milk. You will not taste any difference, but your insides will thank you for making these small changes.
Also, choose a natural peanut butter like Adam’s Peanut Butter. It has one ingredient: peanuts. Other PB have additional oil, sugar, salt, and even sometimes molasses. Your peanut butter doesn’t need anything more than good ol’ peanuts. Read those ingredients!
This is my forth Jamba makeover and am loving how simple I’ve been able to re-create some of my favorites. Mango-A-Go-Go, Razzmatazz, and Caribbean Passion have already been mastered with 4 ingredients. I didn’t think I could make it any easier until this peanut butter chocolate smoothie. Hmmm… which smoothie should I recreate next?
- 2 cups chocolate or dark chocolate almond or coconut milk
- 1/4 cup natural peanut butter
- 2 frozen bananas
In a Vitamix blender, add ingredients in order listed. Blend on high until smooth and slushy. Enjoy!
