The Game-On Health Challenge- No Diets Allowed

We just finished the first round and my team came painfully close to winning.  We lost by less than 1 point!  Even though my team lost, it was all worth it.  Creating new healthy habits and breaking bad habits left everyone refreshed, motivated, and wanting more!  Here’s what some of our challengers had to say.

 

Yvonne (the biggest loser and lost 9 pounds) said, “I know this challenge can’t last forever, but I am really sad that this is the last week. Even though I know I will be signing up for the next challenge, I’m still going to have a hard time letting go of the bond that I’ve created in this challenge. This has been an experience to remember and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this. It has changed me is more ways than I will ever be able to express.”

 

Kristen (member of winning team) said, “I really don’t want this game to end.  I love my new habit of 10 minutes of yoga in the morning – even when I don’t want to do it I feel so much better after!”

 

Chad (member of winning team) said, “My wife is begging me to keep playing.  I’ve developed habits that are really going to stick. I love drinking as much water as required. I love getting as much sleep as required. I love being accountable for my meal plan each day. I love having friends that I can talk to daily that are in the same boat. We all understand what the other is going through. We are all on this path and I’m loving every minute of it.”

 

It’s your turn to compete!  Welcome to The Game-On Health Challenge inspired from the book The Game-On Diet (Oh, I really hate that word)!   The Game-On Health Challenge is competitive, motivating, gets results, and provides a chance to win some PRIZES!  It doesn’t get much better than this.  Here’s how you play.

 

The Game-On Health Challenge Rules

 

  • 1) A perfect day is 100 points. A perfect week is 700 points.

 

  • 2) You get ONE DAY OFF of each aspect of the game!  You can take a complete day off or split them up throughout the week such as Monday- meal plan day off, Tuesday- unhealthy habit day off, etc.  GIVE YOURSELF FULL POINTS ON YOUR DAY OFF.  Since we’ll be playing during the holidays, we’re going to make a special rule.  You can choose 2 weeks during the game to take 2 meal days off, BUT you must be perfect in 2 other categories in order to receive full points.  For example, no water or sleep days off on the weeks you take 2 meal days off in order to receive full points.  For further questions, email [email protected].

 

  • 3) In each category, except the meal planit’s either ALL POINTS OR NOTHING.  Deduct from the 30 meal points according to the penalties listed under deductions.  Full set of rules to come once you’ve registered for The Game-On.

 

  • 4) Meal plan (30 points) – Choose any healthy meal plan such Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, calorie counting, no sugar/white flour, etc.  Each time you eat outside your meal plan DEDUCT 5 points.  NO SODA, DIET SODA, OR ALCOHOL during the game.  Period.  Each drink is minus 10 points for up to your maximum 30 daily meal points.

 

  • 5) Exercise (20 points) – 20 minutes of exercise each day (with a day off, of course!)  It must be purposeful exercise… sorry, chasing kids or yard work doesn’t count.

 

  • 6) Sleep 7+ hours (15 points) – 7+ hours of sleep each night.  For those new moms and insomniacs, 7+ hours in bed practicing relaxing techniques results in full points.

 

  • 7) Water (10 points) – 3 liters of water each day.  Sorry, no exceptions.

 

  • 8) New Habit (10 points) – Integrating one new healthy habit per day.

 

  • 9) Old Habit (10 points) – Eliminating one unhealthy habit per day.

 

  • 10) Communication (5 points) – One form of communication (email, text, Facebook, phone call, etc.) with one team member and one opponent each day.  Share a recipe, encouragement, playful banter… your choice!

 

Step 1: Read ALL The Game-On Health Challenge Rules above.

 

Step 2: Fill out The Game-On Health Challenge Entry Form.  This information will be shared with your teammates and opponents.  It also keeps you accountable.

 

Step 3: Pay $15 Registration Fee.  Why a registration fee?  You must put a little ‘skin’ in the game to keep you motivated and to contribute to the awesome prizes below!

 

Step 4: We’ll organize you into teams and email you information on your teammates, opponents, provide full set of The Game-On rules (includes bonus points and deduction rules), daily tracking sheets, start date reminders, and further information on reporting your weekly score.

 

Step 5: Game On!  The start date is MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18th.  This is Day #1 of counting your points.  Each game is 6 weeks long.  You must be registered with fee paid by FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15th AT 10:00 PM MST.  No exceptions.  All entries and registrations after that time will be entered for the next round of The Game starting January 6th.  Teams will be assigned by SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17th.  Watch your email for information.

Step 7: The members from the winning team win a $40 gift card of their choice.  The biggest loser AND most valuable player of the game win $30 gift cards.  ATTENTION: We are paying close attention to our players.  Those extra dedicated and hard working players on a losing team may be rewarded for their efforts too!  Stay focused.  Stay honest.
